Chanticleer Flowering Pear Trees: Callery pear cultivar
is a tight, narrow, pyramidal, thornless, ornamental pear tree which
typically reaches 35' tall and only 15' wide. Some specimens appear
almost columnar in habit. Oval, glossy green leaves turn an attractive
reddish purple in autumn. Creamy white flowers in dense corymbs appear
in profusion in early spring.

Flowers
are followed by small, inedible, greenish-yellow fruits (to 1/2"
diameter) which are of little practical value or ornamental interest.
Also sometimes sold under the cultivar names of 'Cleveland Select'
and 'Stone Hill'. This cultivar is similar to the popular Chanticleer
Flowering Pear 'Bradford' but has stronger crotches (less likely
to split) and a much narrower form. group or specimen. Street tree
