What are Maple Trees ? Maple, common name for a small family of trees from the Genus Acer, are widespread in the temperate areas of the northern hemisphere. Maple trees are recognized by there opposite leaves and small, radially symmetrical flowers in loose clusters. The flowers often lack petals.
