About
Taxodium Ascendens Trees: The Taxodium Ascendens species,
often confused with Bald Cypress, is smaller than the Bald Cypress.
The bark is grayish to reddish brown and is usually deeply furrowed.
Its occurrence is usually on wet sites, primarily on sandy pond or
lake margins, and thus its name. The Taxodium Ascendens also can live
on sandy floodplains, as does the common Bald Cypress.

The
Taxodium Ascendens prefers wet swampy areas, but can also tolerate
high dry sites. Being narrower in size than the Bald Cypress gives
it more flexibility in use. Could make a good street tree. Is very
wind firm; hurricane force winds rarely ever turn them over. A very
adaptable tree.
